Mirena IUC...I did it!

I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself :) I guess it's not so much that I'm a baby when it comes to pain just more of an anxious worrier, so i'm most pleased that I didn't chicken out at the last minute. I took 800mg of ibuprofen an hour before and i had also had this pill they give you to soften your cervix(but i dont think they'll be giving them out anymore, something about the side effects, nausea etc.) I just squeezed Ed's hand tight while trying to keep the rest of my body relaxed and breathing. It was more uncomfortable than painful but it was over so soon. It's been an hour and I still haven't felt any cramps. I'm so happy and relieved right now! 5 years of worry free sex without a hindered libido! Hopefully my skin will settle down and my pms mood swings will be less severe  *fingers crossed* I'll keep you updated.
p.s. I have a small uterus :x

Edit:
Almost 6 hours later and I'm feeling great, still no cramping!.....I'm a little paranoid by this, but it's still there... So.... I say the food/exercise tracking commences now!

Congratulations on the success!
As odd as this sounds, I'm a lot less scared of asking my doctor about it now that you've done it.
Take care,
Jenn

Jenn-it seems pretty great and from what I've read on message boards(not always a great idea:)people either love it or hate it, but the people that hate it appear to have problems all around i.e. crazy periods and bad experiences with other birth control. Good Luck!

Crystal-Whoo! yes I felt/feel so excited and relieved! I hope you have minimal pain! *fingers crossed*

They aren't bad, I had to get the strings on mine trimmed but other than that, I never had any problems with it. And it make your periods practically nonexistent!

oooh tell me more?! Its obviously some kind of implant. If it causes pain is a one off or all the time?
