28 things // No.2

(doodle by Ed<3)
I say cover because we sleep with just a comforter so, no i didn't forget the s :) I pretty much do all my reading in bed after Ed goes to sleep. 1. Thank goodness for kindles it was really hard to hold a book and turn pages under the cover. 2. Thank goodness for the lighted kindle cover! now I dont have to have my ds propped up facing my kindle, that was extra fun trying to turn the pages of a thick book.

I know I should not stay up so late, i try and only read for 30 min to an hour but the last book I was really into I read for 3 hours without realizing! This is most definitely why I get so tired during the day and end up taking a nap. I dont find much time during the day to read and i really look forward to my time under the cover, knowing Ed is  peacefully asleep and keeping me warm and not thinking about a damn thing besides what's going on in the current story. As you can see from the list below i went through a slew of polygamy survivor books, those led to creepy crime books. I was reading some on the treadmill which was a nice way to get that in but I've found listening to embarrassing pop music on Pandora is more benifical to getting my fitness on. Gosh I love technology<3 I recently signed up for audible, for me it's a great alternative to netflix when I'm working. This way 30 minutes doesn't pass between a stitch because my eyes are glued on my laptop :) Also audio books are a great way to "read" books that I otherwise probably wouldn't get through, like Great Expectations.

Since we've been here(May)I've read(under the covers):
6 books by Steve Chandler (which I highly recommend if you're into "self help" motivational stuff)

What are you reading? When do you get your reading in? Have you converted to a Kindle? If you're against them believe me after 10 minutes with one you'd be sold

I'm currently reading "Skinheads" by John King. Its not about Nazi skinheads, though. I have to do my reading at night since I have to take care of a newborn and toddler during the day! I have to go read with my husband before he goes to sleep, then get up and do school work. sigh. i need so many more hours in the day!

A couple really good books I've read lately are The Help by Kathryn Stockett and Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende. Obvi, as you've probably heard, The Help is AMAZING. Daughter of Fortune is AWESOME too, the first couple chapters are tough to get through sort of, but after them, it gets super bad-ass.

Currently reading "The Lovely Bones" but will probably be done with that by this weekend. Just finished "Dracula", and still have over 30 new books we bought at Border's closing sale... so the possibilities are endless. My mom LOVES her Kindle, but I like to feel my books' individual weights, and smell their pages. I love gently working open a binding, and I have a cute collection of bookmarks I have been working on since I was four. So... maybe it's a good thing I work in a library! haha

PS- I also ofter wait until Bear is asleep, and turn on the "headboard" made of strings of twinkle lights to read by. Best idea we ever had!

I love these illustrations and learning more about you. Cuddling up to a good book sounds so good! I read books on my phone right now :)
