Lauren visits!

Sooo Friday night Lauren came to visit. First we went to the fabric store! Then we went downtown and got coffee, I gave her a little tour of the outdoor mall and luckily we weren't accosted by any homeless people. We met up with Bridget and she talked us into eating Indian food...not so good. We stopped by the liquor store and got tiny bottles of flavored vodka since the bar we were going to only served beer and Lauren hates beer :/ Luckily they've started serving margaritas. Any who we got to the bar and sneaked in the bathroom *gulp* After that I dunno what happened....I called some guy a douche that used to work at longs. I knew I recognized him from somewhere, he was rude to me when I was shipping stuff and Ed gave him a talking to. Haha i embarrassed him in front of his equally uncool friends!! There's really no stopping me once I've started!!

By the end of our time at the bar we were referring to each other by our online moniker's and informing people about soft sculpture. We are plush snobs :)

Once we we're finished there the best husband ever took us to taco bell and dealt with our silliness. I sobered up around the time Bridget left and we played rock band until falling asleep.

I woke up around 10 am but was planning on going back to sleep. When I walked into the living room i totally expected Lauren to be asleep but she was wiiiiide awake. SHe had been up for an hour, i feel like such a bad host.We looked through etsy and gossiped about the plush scene then headed to my favorite place for breakfast, where Lauren cursed in front of several old ladies and children and almost got us thrown out!! :)

All in all I had tons of fun and I'm so sad we didn't hang out sooner.

Yay! it's over!

Merry Xmas everyone!! We had a good one but I'm sooo glad it's over. It seems like every time I should be sewing I just can't bring myself to do it. I would have liked to make more gifts....at least I got Jackie's lady bug and Grandma's bear done! Anyhow this post is kind of a mess because my brain has yet to recover.



My sister got me this vintage Rainbow Brite and ALL of her friends! Jealous?! She also got me all the movies we watched religiously when we were little : Loverboy, Troop Beverly Hills, and Adventures in Babysitting!! I have the best big sis evaaar!<3

I got Ed a bunch of never opened Lego sets from 1992, pirates and cowboys!! and a bunch of creepy medical photo books.



Ed got me an awesome new sewing machine, a huge step up from my old one. I just have to figure it out a bit more :) And then if that wasn't enough he tells me he has one more little thing and plops the big keyboard down on my lap. That guy is crazy! He also got me a tamagotchi, Paris to the Moon, and the new work from David and Amy sedaris that I didn't even know about, The Book of Liz.



I've said it before and I'll say it again, we absolutely have the best bro-in-law ever. He fixed Ed's Rock Band drum pedal and now it's even better than before. Look at that craftsmanship!!


Last but not least my present toErin. I was quite pleased with this, it looks just like her!

Me and Bridge haven't exchanged gifts yet, that will have to wait till Friday. Zomg guys Lauren is coming to visit tomorrow, I'll try not to get us arrested :)

Brrr!

Ugh. our sleeping schedule is so off. We have been going to bed at 5am and getting up at 2pm, by the time we get out of the house we have two hours of light :/ It's been too cold for us to be outside anyhow though. Last week we went up the coast and could only get a few pieces of sea glass before we gave up. Today we stopped by this little cemetery I had never been to before. I didn't even know it existed until we had to take a detour a couple days ago. It's right by houses and is super run down. Sooo spooky! All the graves were super old, late 1800's.
there is a really cool cemetery in San Jose that has old pictures on all of the graves stones. I dunno why I like going, I am such a scaredy cat.


For I dunno how long, we have slept with a fan on full blast, we need the noise to sleep. two nights ago the motor burned out, we woke up thinking there was a fire and sleepily stumbled around the house, it took us awhile to realize the fan wasn't going. So we went one sleepless night and bought a sound machine yesterday. It worked well for me, Ed's still undecided. We keep it on rain, it sounds like it's pouring outside :) There's also a heartbeat setting...creepy.

We're gonna see the late showing of Juno tonight!

The most wonderful time of the year?

Long time no post. I have been kind of down in the dumps, but I guess that's what expected around this time of year right? This year is especially rough though it seems. The results of my fingerprints have been delayed, which I was expecting because that's what happened when I worked for Easter Seals. I know what the problem is...I changed my last name to my mother's maiden name when I was 10...therefore I'm shifty and get lost in the system.
Hopefully they will come through in January so I can get back to working in the classroom. I really miss it.

I meant to post when I hit 100 sales on Etsy but....I didn't and now I'm up to 124!! Which means despite being jobless I still have $ for rent and bills, yay! I've sewn a few things in the last couple days, 1 new design that I really like! but the weather has been too crappy for good pics.


Me and Ed already exchanged gifts of course, mostly because they were stressing us out. I'll wait to post about them until after Xmas.
