Tu Tu Tuesday =( . - .)=

My first tote!!

This is my first attempt at a tote. I needed to do something with this fabulous Japanese canvas that I had been hoarding. I suck at patterns and tutorials so I pretty much winged this and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it. Tote+messenger bag=what a happy marriage!

I had something to say but uuuuh I don't remember. My tongue is healing nicely it had been making my mouth salivate a lot though which led me to thinking about people out there whos mouths normally produce too much saliva and how lucky I am to have normal saliva glands....and no other physical disabilities or deformities....then I turn to Ed ( I couldn't sleep) and gaze at the perfection that is his head, praise jesus.

I should probably get started on my wips....1 penguin, 1 cat, 1 robot, 2 bear-ish things, and 1 fish thing.

wips

EDIT!!

I remembered what I had to say. This totally made my day!

Yay!!

That's Brigette a.k.a. WeirdBugLady, I would have named her CuteBugGirl. Check out her shop and flickr. Her dragon and Narwhal are my favorites!

Lots to say

Ouch! I bit my tongue so hard crunching on popcorn kernels that I was totally paralyzed for a few minutes and now have a bruise on my tongue eeww!!

Funny thing, the day after my last post I plugged in my new machine after not being able to find my manual! and viola! it works....no weird tension issues....I can do all my fancy hearts and leaves stitches....so weird.

My sister is pregnant!! The idea of this new baby is so strange. How will we love this baby as much as Acacia? I know we will of course but this thing, this great love for something that hasn't existed for very long is such a mystery. By the time the new baby comes along Acacia will be 2!! and will hopefully be ready to spend the night at our house :)

I remember the day I was talking to Ed about Acacia before she was born I felt like he didn't really get it until I said," you know....you're going to be an uncle....she's OUR niece". I don't think he realized that this was something that was happening to both of us until then, I definitely noticed a change after that. Friday night I was babysitting and I started feeling pretty poorly, so I had to call Ed at work. He came to the rescue and entertained her all night. Although it's not too hard for him. She is content to sit on his lap, play with his beard, and watch youtube, cat bloopers are her favorite :)

Next month we are going to be a house of 3 for probably 3 months. Florian, the guy that made triachnid with Ed is visiting from Austria. He was originally coming for IGF, since Triachnid mad it! but decided to stay longer. At first the idea of someone staying in the extra room...a boy no less, sounded like a terrible idea but now I'm warming up to it. I would feel bad having this visitor out in the cold cruel world possibly staying with hippies and being forced to compost. Plus I will put makeup on him in his sleep!

Still no fingerprint results...This is SOOO frustrating. I don't even have traffic tickets....whyyyyy must I get held up in the system??!! At least I have 2 scheduled days to work at the groomers coming up...that's something.

------------------------------------------------

Saturday we went to Big 5 in search of roller blades, Ed ended up with roller skates. We went to the skating rink and tried them out. we both hurt our feet for some reason and had to go home early, we're gonna try them out again in a covered parking lot, hopefully tonight, so we can see if we need to return em or not.

----------------------------------------------

After loving the drums on rock band Ed ordered an electronic drum set. I need to break out my keyboard so we can make some sweet jams.

Here's Acacia helping Ed put the drum set together<3

I want a lunchbox with Titan,Wolf, and Crush on it!! thermos too pls k thanx!!

Rearranged

I rearranged the living room yesterday. I switched out the table for my desk from the 2nd room. I felt very unorganized sewing on the coffee table, having to put all my things away when I wasn't working on something and my back was getting sore from sitting on the couch.

Sewing desk

fleece,new machine,more fabric

stuff

fat quarters<3

I really need to sit down and try and make sense of my new sewing machine. It's just that I hate manuals, they are not written for me. Brother should have a service that sends little old ladies with milk and cookies to your house to help you figure out your machine.

Productivity ahoy!!

I was quite productive last night :) I made two small acorns, the first was a little wonky but I got it straightened out and the second one was much better. Then made 2 lovely birds based off a drawing in my sketchbook from a few weeks ago. I love them!

When I woke up this morning my thread was in disarray, yes...it was quite a crazy night.

Yay! I finally have non fried bangs!!

*cough* *cough*

Hi there. All last week I hung out with my sister and the baby. I went to one of Acacia's gymnastics classes and 2 music classes. She amazes me! She's the youngest kid in gymnastics , in fact she's not actually old enough to be in there yet! She will follow the teacher if she must, she bounces on the trampoline, aaaand she patiently waits for the slide, sometimes clenching her fists and doing a dance :) She isn't even 18 months yet. I can't wait to see what she is doing at 2. Oh yeah!! she also said "auntie" for the first time this week *melts*.

I guess it was inevitable after all the baby classes that I would catch something :/ You'd think after working in schools for 3 years my immune system would be stronger, but I'm still really susceptible to colds and regular sinus infections.

Last Saturday me, Bridget, and Ed saw El Orphanato (The Orphanage). Holy crap! Me and B were so scared. I actually screamed and I never do that! If a movie is a little scary I'll put my feet up on the seat in front of me, a little scarier the hood goes, really scary I need Ed's arm around me with hand firmly on shoulder. With this movie I had all 3 of those aaand me and B were clinging to each other. Ha ha I probably stretched out the sleeve of her sweatshirt.

Not much else has been going on since I've been sick. We finished all seasons of Malcom in the Middle and now I'm working on Quantum Leap season 2. It seems odd that it was one of my favorite shows when I was 4-5. My other favorites were Unsolved Mysteries ,Life Goes On, and Rescue 911 What can I say? I have always loved TV.

I have a few Valentiney Plushies up in my shop!

Allo

Sooo let's see here...Saturday I woke up feeling not so great, later in the day when I started feeling better I went to Bridget's and we went out for chinese food and played WoW. Bridget says I play like an anarchist...haha I just get bored really easily.

Sunday mom picked me up and we went to sis'. Mom died her hair with the power out with a new shade. I came out looking like an old purplish brown pelt :) So I rescued her and used the same recipe I use on mine. I turned out a very pretty light blonde!

Yesterday I woke up super early and went with my sister to Acacia's first gymnastics class. This girl is seriously a genius. It was so much fun, watching her impatiently wait to go down the slide, marching in place balling up her hands :)

Afterwards I dropped off 5 or 6 applications at different vet offices. Ugh...please come through fingerprints!!

Then we went back to my house and watched Eagle vs. Shark. Everyone who watches it is disappointed :/

hopefully a new video of Acacia coming soon.

I've been embroidering a bit lately. I really like embroidery, although my stitches don't look as neat as I'd like them to, it's very relaxing for me. I'm thinking about opening another etsy shop with anything I make that isn't plush, we'll see.

I <3 electricity

Here's Adam acorn. He's just popped out of my head yesterday morning, he's a little wonky but I think he's pretty cute.

Acacia , she'll be a year and a half on February 3rd. I can't believe how big she is<3

This morning I woke up to the sound machine turning off...because the power went out. I couldn't even make coffee :( My sister's power was out too so she came and picked me up and brought me some hot pre power outage coffee! We visited April at the hospital, she had her 3rd baby boy yesterday! He's so little with tiny wrinkly feet. It's odd how when acacia was a newborn I had no problem picking her up and shifting her around but with other peoples babies I feel like I'm going to brake them. Hopefully I will have a new niece or nephew on the way soon!

My sister got a sewing machine for xmas and she's been making stuff like mad. Look at these outfits she made Acacia, without a pattern! For some reason I can't link words :/ so you can see them on my myspace in the comments section. http://www.myspace.com/danielleorama

I've been going to bed at 4am and waking up 3-4 hours later....nap time.

Pandas and bunnies and beavers, oh my!

Up early again! I was quite productive last night. I'm quite pleased with my new creations.

A new day, a better day

I'm actually awake and being productive and it's still the AM!! I somehow worked up the nerve to plug in my sewing machine and immediately felt a wave of happiness. Ah sewing therapy:)

Here's my WoW character. I'm a hunter/troll (miner&engineer)and that's my pet Piggles. He protects me<3, I seriously love that virtual pet and feed him expensive food to keep him happy. I wouldn't have thought a boar would have been my choice but what do you know. He was the first animal I tamed and I've had him since he was around level 5 and since then he's turned into a tank of a killing machine!! I know I sound a bit insane but this is the closest I am to having a dog while I am slowly wearing Ed down.

I never thought we would play this game and look at me now, I love it! An endless cooperative adventure. It is sooo hard to find co-op games. I get this wonderful feeling when we're playing something together, I truly enjoy it and we really bond. I imagine it's the same type of thing for couples that do crossword puzzles or play tennis together?

When Lauren came to visit she surprised me with this super cute, pants wearing elephant and a matching pouch! How sweet :) I'm thinking his name is Stanley...

Me and Bridget finally exchanged xmas presents last weekend. She got me this wonderful mug! It's so weird too because earlier in the day I was at one of my favorite shops and saw this artwork for the first time and love it!
She said she saw the cup and immediately saw me, did you? I mean I'm pretty sure that's exactly what I would look like in a cat suit :) She also got me rubbery skulls that go over your keys! and cornuts! the girl knows the way to my heart. I got her a black mini Holga and lots of film. I was unsure if she would like it buuuut she loved it! and has apparently been coveting my pink one. Perfect.

Two thousand and eight

Happy new year! We spent new years eve at home, we visited sis for awhile but pretty much holed up at the house. We played WoW all night (we're now lvl 30)and I kissed Ed's delicious lips at midnight. I felt pretty good last night almost the same amount of relief i felt after christmas, i was feeling pretty damn optimistic.....but then I woke up late this morning and the first thing i had to do was turn in an application to longs...I felt like i was applying for a job at mcdonalds. I know it's not that bad but thats how i felt, overwhelming anxiety that I have not felt in a long time. I need some kind of job until my fingerprints go through and when i worked there a few years ago it was pretty entertaining, ringing up people's lube and diapers. I will need some kind of job even while I'm working because it's only 15 hrs a week and unless i consistently post stuff on etsy I wont have money for anything after rent. Plus for some reason I'm not eligible to work in summer school till the summer after next :/

I know if it was possible Ed would love for me to be able to stay home. It's very sweet but I really like working it makes me A LOT more productive in the other areas of my life.

Anyway after I turned in the application I had a huge freakout. I feel like we would be some much further along if i could just stay at any one of the crap jobs I've left. The other part of me knows im only 23 and i'm still figuring everything out but OMG! i'm such a loser!!! Ugh I know now that I love working in schools and now that I'm in the school district I'll stay for life!

On that lovely note I'll share with you some of my goals/resolutions for 2008:

+ To blog more,be more productive and fill my shop with wonderful things.

+ Branch out my sewing and craftiness. I would really like to be able to give more handmade gifts.

+ Get serious about WW and lose the weight....again.

+ Overall be more active and take better care of myself.

I think that's pretty much it. After taking a 3 hours nap and writing this I am feeling slightly better about life. Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer :)
