The new job is awesome,great school,great kids. We got some work done today at a new shop! We left our old shop and decided not to go back after "our guy" refused to give me the version of the sparrows that ed drew for me....wtf? You're 21 and have been tattooing for a year, fuck off with your ridiculous "values"!! Anyway the new shop is much better, highest rated in santa cruz. I'm so so please with how they came out, I'll try and get a better pic in the light tomorrow. More pics on my flickr

We stopped by an "Antique Store" today in hopes of finding a display thingy for Ed's muscle men. We did find one and a fabulous fish for moi!! I love it! I am so in love with my camera, taking pictures and editing them, etc. makes me extremely happy. I got a lot of inspiration over all from the store, definitely got me in the mood to sew!

First day of work tomorrow! Eep! I can't believe its only 3 hours, thats pretty sweet. I will possibly get some extra yard duty time. I'd get a vest,whistle, and clip board...I am SO THERE!

Today way busy. I feel exhausted and relieved that I got the job and am starting on Wednesday! Wow! One week of being unemployed that rocks. I'm so happy that I finally got in to the school district. I had to go to the social security office to apply for a new card since I seem to have lost any and every important document I had :/ That was a fun time, it was like a mix between the dmv and a free health clinic. We went to Target so I could stock up on some cheap long sleeved shirts to cover up the tattoos. I figure I can ask if I can wear normal sleeves after parents and teachers get to know me, don't need to spring that on anyone yet. Argh *waiting for Ed to get off the comp so we can go to starbucks* I need a pick me up! I'm working on a mermaid that I can hopefully get done tonight. We're going to start keeping an eye out for apartment on the west side of santa cruz since that's where I'll be working and where Ed's office is, it just makes more sense. We're not in a rush though so we can wait for something good. Okee that's all see ya.

Sunday

After deciding I needed to get out of the house this evening we went to sushi and walked around downtown. I looked high and low at the bookstore but i found absolutely nothing I wanted, my Paul Zindel books better be in the mail tomorrow! I felt much better after getting out and was able to finish the lil project i started this afternoon and start 2 new things.

I have been in a slump, sleeping a lot, thinking instead of doing. At least today I didn't take a nap and I'm still up whooo!

We walked to the beach a bit ago and talked about the job situation. I really have no idea if I'll get it or not. If I do it will be a somewhat far drive in the morning for Ed, three hours of work, meeting Ed for lunch and then taking the bus home or to my sister's since I'm sure I'll be there a lot once Eli is born. The big pro of this position would be the possibility of transferring to the special Ed. class next fall and being a full fledged instructional tech. If I don't get it we decided that I will take this month to find a position that is closer to home. I want to get back to work very much, I like having a schedule and a reason to get dressed in the morning.

Let's just hope the H.R. woman calls early in the day so my mind can be at ease.

Well, back to sewing. I'm just keeping at it since I know sitting and doing nothing isn't going to help anything and hopefully I'll fall into a rhythm and feel like my old self again.

Lil review

Well well well.....I'm unelmployed again...apparently I wasn't a good fit :x yeah I'm a little surprised, I mean I after the 2nd day i pretty much realized it wasnt for me, but the work i was doing was pretty stellar in my opinion so why someone would want to get rid of me puzzles me, she said it wasn't personal but im pretty sure she felt my personality clashed with hers and its always strange to work in someones house. Anyway, on to bigger and better things! I had an interview for a learnin assistant position at a super nice elementary school, through the school district, I'll find out how it went on Monday I hope.



Ed's been home this week working on a beautiful new game. I've been having trouble getting motivated to sew, my mind has been kind of blank since wednesday, just not a whole lot of thoughts traveling through there. I did sit down and start to sew the creature from Ed's new game and about 5 min. in i sewed through my finger, I've never done that before, I'm not even sure what I was doing. It broke of the machine and broke in half in my finger. I made a lil noise and was just staring at it kind of in shock and Ed hopped up to the rescue. He told me to look away and pulled the first half out but the pointed ed was still there so I pulled it out with my teeth while Ed was looking for tweezers. Its a pretty clean wound and feels ok now, but i was really shaky afterward and had to lay down. I wasnt made for that kind of trauma. I remember stapeling my thumb and my grandma got mad at me because she thought someone was kidnapping me :/





Thursday night we had a birthday dinner for me at Ed's Dad and Stepmom's. It was so wonderful! The fact that they remembered and invited us over meant the world to me, I'm really glad we have a relationship with them and a good one this time. I asked for anything involving pesto,noodles,and chicken and they were all there and the also got my favorite kind of cake, tres leches <3 i feel like such a sap but I appreciated everything so much. Ed's step mom picked out a card with a little girl with chopped up bangs, something about being old enough to know better not to cut your own bangs :), which some of you might remember I had a tendency to do! She gave me a super fancy facial kit, I love that kinda stuff! and Ed's stepsister,jenna, got me a buncha super cute hello kitty stuff including this bag, and if you know me you know that mermaids+hello kitty are pretty much heaven for me. While i was eating my cake a bite fell off my fork and jenna's son said,"my food does that all the time", he's four and I thought that was just about the cutest thing to relate to me, he said it so sincerely :)




After dinner we went to Ed's mom's and she gave me part of the gift she'd been working on for me. 1 of 2 Elvis pillows, so awesome! This has been THE MOST special birthday ever<3

Hi there! I'm now 24, wheee! I had a great birthday. For my gift Ed recorded himself harmonizing and singing the beach boys song "Darlin'" It is so beautiful and sweet<3 Later in the evening we went to San Francisco for the braid release party. I got to talk with some very nice people and got a lot of camera tips :) Later on this man was coming towards me with a cake, i thought i was in his way so i backed up and moved to the side but he kept coming towards me, hahaha it was my birthday cake! Although it was a little scary to have a room full of people I don't know sing happy birthday I did feel very special. Also the cake was beyond delicious! Ed is a little sneak!

Yay! I now have my very own laptop! and a Canon Rebel xsi! I'm set. We went to dinner with our moms and played Apples to Apples afterword, it was awesome. Good good day, work tomorrow :)

So life.....the laziness has stopped. I'm living...it's wierd, no escaping, no hiding. It's sort of tiring but very rewarding. The balancing act is going well and I havent even been napping :x It's scary, being an adult! my schedule is so perfect. 3 days a week is just right to let me do everything else i need to get done. i made some fabulous ponies on Sunday night and will be sewing more and updating the shop next tuesday :)

Two years ago today one of the greatest loves of my life entered the world. Thank you sister for giving me the greatest gift ever<3




Yesterday was acacia's 2nd birthday party, I was pretty tired so I didn't get many pictures. She shares the same birthday as Ed's mom, August 3rd, today. For acacia's birthday we got my sis and Joe tickets for the Thomas train at Roaring Camp Railroad, acacia was still under 2 so she was free! For Gloria we got her her first tattoo, a plumeria on her ankle!!! She was so brave :) Of course we couldn't go to the shop without getting something done ourselves. Ed got more work done on his arm and I got a diamond on the back of each arm as part of my birthday present :) If you want to meet some characters just hang out at the tattoo shop on a slow Saturday. This hilarious guy came in that made fun of me, bought me a redbull, and greeted every guy he knew with "sup girl!".

Tomorrow is my first day at the preschool!! The only thing I'm worried about is getting enough sleep and hopefully not feeling like I'm dying when I ride my bike there in the morning. Blah my brain isn't working....Oh yeah I made something...
