Big Red

I finally finished my swap plush! His name is Big Red. We have tons of beautiful redwood parks around so I thought he would be perfect for this swap :)

I feel slightly overwhelmed, but in a good way. Ed will be 28! this sunday and then sunday the 9th we'll be celebrating his birthday with friends, rollerskating party!!!

I'm doing a much anticipated swap with dolls for friends!! and I got accepted to participate in a show atthe Hello My Name Is gallery in New Haven,CT.

I'm off to get a bit of exercise on my bike and then it's straight to the sewing machine!!

Ed's games + shirts

How cool is this?! Although the drawing of Ed is quite a atrocious and I wish Alex and Florian could've been featured somewhere....but what can I say my man's a star! I'm not sure exactly where they're being sold yet, what a sweet deal though ,an awesome game and shirt together :)

Monday was crazy!! I ended up helping April cook for her business for 11 hrs. The first task she put me on was baking 5 pans of brownies and 75 mini muffins. I haven't baked anything more than chocolate chip cookies and pre made mixes from Trader Joe's so I was a little nervous. They turned out fantastic though and beautiful, who knew I could bake?? I made several different kinds or puree too. When we have a baby I'm totally making all of its food, it's extremely easy.

Midday I got a call from the video store down the street, I had turned in a resume on Friday, they offered me the job and I started yesterday :) it's seriously 2 minutes from the house and its very fun and easy, plus I get to recommend movies to people that have no clue what to watch :) So with this job and cooking on Monday I'm totally making enough money to rejoin society until my damn prints come in.

I'm behind on sewing!! I'm sooo close to being done with my "swap plush" which should have been in the mail yesterday :x I think it will be worth the wait though, I'm really happy with it.

Time to get ready for work!

Red

Wow, it feels so good to be awake with a purpose. I seriously miss going to work and I don't understand how it is possible that my fingerprints still haven't cleared.

Today I'm visiting April and taking care of her new baby while she works. I can't wait to snuggle that little guy!

This weekend I went to the salon with my mom. My hair was looking good for the most part around the roots but the ends we're looking really grey/white/purple. I asked the lady to make it all one blonde color but when I looked in the mirror after she rinsed me off it was a brown purple....nowhere near blonde. She seemed to think it looked ok.....I was not pleased and decided to fuck it and go red. Even the red though is not the color I asked for... Oh well I do a better job with color myself and plan to go a more orangey Lucille Ball red in the near future. Ed was shocked when I told him over the phone that I was going red but when I got home he totally loved it :) I definitely think I look better with dark hair, blond is just too hard to keep up.

Meet Pigee! In the winter months his 3 small patches of fur keep him toasty warm!!

I'm back...

Our world has turned a bit upside down since last Thursday. We were all set to have Florian live with us, staying in our second room. For some reason Ed wasn't able to sleep at all and the whole thing triggered huge amounts of anxiety for the both of us. We found F a place to live, quite a nice place too, and now that IGF is over things should be getting back to normal. I wish I could erase this past week, I was on such a roll and I definitely got off track but it shouldn't be too hard to get back on.

I'm almost finished with my plush for Theneedle plush swap and then I need to get started on my consignment order eeeep!

Happy Valentines Day<3<3<3

Happy Day everyone! I'm so proud of myself this year. I made some special people handmade valentines. I watercolored thick wc paper a nice shade of brown, and then mod podged woodgrain fabric hearts on. They said "You're Tree-frific", and on the back a little message with a picture of us :)

We we're planning on driving up to SF early and going to the Exploratorium before Florian's flight comes in this evening but we decided we were both feeling too anxious to do that today. I needed a day to relax before he gets here and now I can go get my nails done!

Onto the gifts!

Last week when I was feeling crappy Ed decided to give me my gift early. He actually went to the mall and into Gap! I've only ever used the tiny plastic bottle now I ve got a fancy glass bottle :)

I made Ed this lil fish, he loved it :D I used a baby food jar my sister left here. I can't remember where I got the idea to do this I saw it on the internets probably over a year ago.

Sooo then last night after we shipped stuff at longs I was trying to stuff something into the glove box and it's full of junk as it is. I noticed a little white bag slid in the side, I poked it and didn't give it another thought, hahaha :) Then Ed says "what is that?!" Well, It was this beautiful lapis ring that I saw in a shop months ago. That guy I'm telling ya. We don't always celebrate vday or give gifts but this one was awesome!

This is our 9th Vday together. I remember our first one very clearly. He came over with roses, balloons, box of chocolates, 1lb. of conversation hearts, and a beautiful mermaid necklace, her tail was wrapped around a lapis ball!! Of course I was only 15 and had no job=no$ so I made him a jigglypuff(a pokemon) card out of construction paper. It was pretty cute and he totally loved it. Later in the evening when my sister's date made a comment about it being silly, he very seriously told him that he loved it and the douche shut up :) I love that guy<3

Po Nee & Poilus

Arg I woke up at 8am and couldn't go back to sleep. I guess 5 hours is enough. Last night I got busy and made 2 new poilus, that are definitely my favorite so far. When I was done with them I felt like I wanted to do something totally different. I grabbed a piece of olive green fleece and went to town, I give you Po Nee!!

Meet Po Nee. He has a huge appetite and is able to unhinge his jaw like a snake! It's fun to look at his tummy and try to guess what creature he has just eaten.

Sleepy

I'll make this quick since I'm feeling pretty sleepy. I got to see my favorite doodle today.

Then my wonderful sis took me to the post office to pick up my superbuzzy fabric even though she's sick<3

I attempted to take a good photo of my newest Poilu, Samson, but I had to give up and use the flash :/

Then Ed picked me up and we met my mom for dinner and to hand off Fat Frank, the commision I did for a woman she works with! It was hard to give him up!

I have an interview tomorrow at the vet office where I'm doing on call grooming at the attached salon. This is for reception I think and general helping out. It's a "working interview", wish me luck!

Thu Thu Thursday!

Yay! Today has been a good day :) I got Erin's package in the mail, she went all the way to German Town to get those napkins. They're too pretty to use, I'll have to save them for a very special occasion.

Erin's package

I also got my embroidered labels in the mail!! They are simple and perfect and will save me a lot of time from handpainting them. I used Wovina. They have extremely good prices and the shipping was fast!

My labels

I made a new Poilu last night, her name is Greta. Her and Henry have allready found home. People seem to love them and that makes me feel like a million bucks. When I went to bed last night (boy has it been hard to sleep) I was thinking about making some illustrations and maybe even a little story :)I love them!

Wa wa Wednesday

Henry Poilu and worm friend<3

Meet Henry, He's a Poilu, meaning furry in French. Poilus can often be found digging in the grass in the wee hours of the morning looking for worms, not to eat but to befriend. It is not unheard of for a poilu and worm to stay friends for life.

Poilus live of a diet of PB&J sandwhiches their favorite jam is usually apricot, sometimes blackberry.

When a Poilu becomes excited or frightened the fur on his face will poof out!

Roy

Meet Roy! Taking after his namesake Roy Rogers, Roy dreams about being a cowboy and riding the open range. He would totally settle for a pony of his very own though.

Forest Bunnies

Forrest Bunnies!!!

This week is passing by too fast! Since I've been staying up sewing everynight my schedule is getting pretty messed up. I made an impulsive purchase on Superbuzzy at 6am. I haaaad to get some the adorable flannel they have and well....then I just had to have a few more things. Luckily Ed wasn't peeved :) phew!

I have SO MUCH to do...but that's ok, I'll get it all done...seriously I will.

I called the Department of Justice to check on the progress of my fingerprints now that it has been over 30 days and it says they were confirmed, meaning I'm clear. I've left 2 messages for the Human Resources Dept. at the school district and NO ONE has called me back. Gee....it would be really nice and professional if someone could just call me and let me know why I am having a further delay. In better news when I got back from the store there was a message from the Vet Office when I have been doing on-call grooming, they say they have some openings for a vet tech. Hopefully I can set up an interview on Monday.

We watched No Country For Old Men last night. It was ok...wasn't anything I'd need to own or watch again, it was good just kind of ho hum. I did think they were really smart about the violence. There was killing and gore but it wasn't excessive. Show some, don't show some but you knew what happened and thank you Cohen brothers for not showing me a dead Woody Harrelson, no one wants to see that.

Ahh another productive day and I haven't even started the sewing yet :) These pics are from a little drive to my mom's house in Boulder Creek, we picked up a twin bed that she was gonna get rid of, so now Forian will have something to sleep on. Phew I thought I might have to tell him "house guests sleep on the ground in America, duh! everyone knows that."

I checked my mail a bit ago and found out that I've been blogged about on PlushYou That totally made my day! It's very nice to be included with such super talented people.

I'm participating in a plush swap via TheNeedle. It's set up just like secret santa! The theme of the swap is location, so whatever I make will relate to Santa Cruz....oh the possibilities.

Now I'm pooped! I almost gave guppy a bath but it was getting a little too cold for that.

I'm really looking forward to Florian visiting. It's going to be fun to showing him eeeeverything, making sure he has a good experience here, and having a full house :)

Ok, back to sewing and some other projects.

p.s. It's all controlled with the mouse and you don't have to click anything, that's the only help you get :)

A good Sunday

A baby and an uncle<3

Awww lookit<3 I had a woooonderful day today, I got to see almost every person that I love. Last night we were working on cleaning out the spare room for Florian and Ed stuck his acoustic guitar in our bedroom. When we were laying in bed Ed played some and sang some. A couple nirvana songs that he could remember and we sang Asshole by Beck together. Twas fun especially with just the white xmas lights on, Ed has a beautimous voice.

We slept in pretty late and then met Ed's mom for lunch. After that we stopped by grandma's and visited with her, she was dressed all in pink and looked super cute :) Then we stopped by the pet store and got Guppy a fancy new covered litter box...Oooo ahhhh. Once we got home my mom, sis, and the baby came over. We watched the Golden Compass and I gave Acacia a bath. Then mom left and my brother-in-law came over and we played Rock Band while Acacia bopped around and sang (p.s. She's 1.5 years today!), sooo much fun! Now it's just me and Ed and before we get to work on our respective projects we're gonna devour some of my mom's homade tomatio guacamole and watch Cops...Ahhh a perfect day :)
