Catch up

Ok let's see where did I leave off. This past week has been a crazy one for me.

Wednesday: My first day of training I rode my bike to work since Ed was sick. I had no idea it was all going to be on the computer and it was gonna take SO long. I was worried about Ed and I wanted to get home to him. I managed to finish almost all of it between 9am and 2pm. I rushed home and found Ed laying on the couch, he was running a fever and wasn't really responding to me so a few frantic phone calls later Ed's mom picked us up and we were on our way to our family doctor. He couldn't really tell us much other than Ed had a fever, he was probably dehydrated and he had a flu or virus of some kind.......Anytime Ed gets sick I try and force him to drink liquids....does it work?....no, maybe next time he will listen to me, i hope.

Thursday: My first day of work 11am-8pm....Now this may seem normal to you but this is a very long shift to me. To be someplace for 9 hrs. seems like an eternity, so I'm really impressed with myself that I've been able to do this and still get some things done when I get home. I found out that I accidentally turned in my original birth certificate with my father's last name instead of my amended one with my mother's so the head office saw that it didn't match my id and wanted to terminate me :x more stress!!! Ed was still sick and hardly able to eat anything, his fever broke all through the night and he woke up throwing up, which continued all day. He had gone so long without eating that the bile was making him sick, and he felt too nauseous to eat.

Friday: Ed ate and kept it down, we were able to take a small walk and over all he felt better.

Saturday: I finally got a good night's sleep knowing Ed was feeling better and was sleeping. Ed drove me to work since his mom had picked me up Thursday night and my bike was still at longs. I cannot find my f'ing birth certificate or my ss card :/ So I brought my "order of name change" paper that has a seal from the court, my marriage license, our rental agreement, our tax shit in hopes that any of this might clear things up so that i could keep working until a new birth certificate came in the mail. I looked though all my name change stuff and amongst tons of xeroxes I found the original name change doc. with the seal so I gave that to the manager and said that has got to be enough to prove I'm me.......I worked for Longs before for christs sake.

I get out on the register....I'm feeling stressed, still worrying about Ed. Care taking for someone and trying to go about your daily life is extremely hard, and yet I did it, I really didn't know I had it in me to take on so much responsibility, without completely freaking out.

So about an hour into work this old woman comes in and wants to buy a lottery quick pick thing. I knew what to do but I can't sell any restricted items...even lighters and matches, for my first 30 days. i have to call a manger ever time. This really peaves the lady and she starts yelling at me...."I dunno why they put you kids on the register that can't do anything"..............while a line of people are watching,I kinda stopped listening after that. I calmly told her, " I'm going as fast as I can and doing the best job I can".......more yelling.............I started to cry......the kind that you can't control where tears are streaming down your face and your chest is heaving a little :/ more yelling, by this time someone finally came over to help me and took over so I could go to the back....once it starts you gotta let it out and the job stuff on top of Ed being so sick just kinda overwhelmed me. I know normally I would have been fine and just shined it on but that was just the last thing I needed was this fat lil 60yr. old bull dyke yelling at me about her fucking lotto. Seriously lottery people are the most impatient.....go to the fucking liquor store if you must have your lotto precisely when you want it....you fucking twats. p.s. You're not gonna win.....you know that right?.....

Sunday: We wake up pretty early and Ed is feeling much better. He goes out to get himself lunch and Mario Kart for the wii while I finish my breakfast. When he comes back he asks me for the coffee table (its a small) so he can put his lunch on it. I'm doing something, so i grab my coffee and say take it....I see it's not moving so i say, take it!, pull it!......I look over at him and he's sitting on the couch facing me with a green velvet ring box. My tummy jumped, I felt like I was being proposed to :) Inside was this smoky quartz ring that I was admiring a couple weeks ago....That guy I swear.....he's so good at surprises. He said it was to make up for our anniversary, even though I was quite please with Dewey!! and that he wanted me to know how good I've been doing :) *tear*.

Being responsible is not something that comes super easy to me, I'm still adjusting to being an adult and trying to take on my share of duties. Even though last week was hard I felt super good, more independent by pulling my weight in the relationship, something you can forget about when someone takes good care of you. I happily went to work from 4-8pm without anyone making me cry :) Oh I forgot! We got pulled over about 2 min from my work for having a break light out. I hopped out and went to work so I wouldn't be late. Later I find out not only was our light out but Ed's license was suspended because it was meant to be renewed in march! Argh! Luckily the cop was super nice and believed that Ed had no idea it was expired so no tickets for us....phew!

Monday: I cleaned the house and we played tons of mario kart wii online, SO FUN!! I even got some sewing in.

Tuesday:
I got a call saying my name change paper is good enough and I can continue working *huge sigh of relief* As far as the school district goes I have to wait till next fall to interview for another position :/

Went to my sister's and did our massive amount of laundry and babysat my love doodle. I heard her "sing" Winni the pooh, twinkle twinkle little star, and abc's. We watched Winnie the pooh, before she went to bed, at which I was cracking up. Have you seen the one where pooh is stuck in rabbits house. Rabbit is in a tizzy thinking how long will he have to look at Pooh's butt, so he tries to put a frame around it, some antlers and paints on it, haha I love it. My favorite character is definitely the gopher :) Weird cuz I didn't like the show at all growing up.

Today: I'm relaxing with a clean house and clean laundry. I have some sewing to do and will probably play with the rats in a bit. I've been giving them a little plate of whatever we've been having for dinner. So far they love broccoli, chicken, brown rice, spaghettios, sourdough bread, and they went ape shit over a piece of kettle corn, I have never seen so much tongue action. They have been playing together like crazy, I was a little worried at first that it was too aggressive but I don't think they're at that point yet, so far just lots of fun. Oh by the way, I had no idea there's a rat named Emile in Ratatouille s, what a coincidence!

I'll be sending In my Crammed Organisms pieces too late to be in the book but they'll be there in time for the show. For some reason anytime I sign up for a show something crazy happens and I have zero time to do anything, but at least I'll actually get something sent this time :)

Ok I think I'm all caught up now :)

Coming soon!

H.A.T.S.

Poor Ed is still sick, but I think his fever is almost over with. He's curled up on the couch, watching arrested development eating the best pop tarts EVAR!! I got a new flavor today, raspberry vanilla....pink sprinkles!!

I have training tomorrow at Longs, yes finally getting paid!!

TMI from here on:
I had my annual exam this morning. I hadn't been in 2 years because my last experience was not good, so I was nervous to say the least + it's never fun to go to Planned Parenthood. I ended up getting the most wonderful lady today, she was super gentle and I felt absolutely no pain afterwards, last time I was in pain all day. We talked about the IUD eeer IUC they're calling it now. I'm going for the Paragaurd. Hopefully I wont have any trouble even though I haven't had a full term pregnancy. She gave me a prescription for a pill that will soften up my cervix prior to my appointment so here's hoping for the best! It's not until late May though so lots of time to be nervous! and another month of condoms :( Haha she had to get a longer speculum mid way through because I'm "a tall girl" and I'll have you know I have a small cervix or the face is small or something, whatever...the point is I'm a tall dainty lady :)

P.S. I'm going with Emile for the new baby.

Married for 3 years!!!

But more importantly...

Yup 3 whole years of marriage :) I can't believe it, it really has flown by. I'd say one of our biggest accomplishments is resolving arguments quickly, so I guess that would mean our communication has grown a lot. But the thing that really makes our relationship/marriage work is that we are totally hot for each other. I really can't explain how we do it but we do work really hard to be as close as possible, which is what works for us....wow I'm feeling inarticulate today :)

Any who last night Ed had a fever in the middle of the night, poor guy :( So I let him sleep as long as he could and got some stuff done. Longs called and I passed my drug test, of course, so I decided to walk there (4 miles total!) to hand in my tax stuff and even stopped by the gym on the way home. I should be working, hopefully by the weekend.

Once I got home Ed was feeling a lil better so after some lunch I wanted to go to the pet store. I didn't plan on getting anything, but I have really been wanting another creature to love and take care of and I fell in love with this little baby dumbo rat. I still can't believe Ed agreed to it! I love that man!, he really does so much to ensure that I'm happy<3

Now without further ado may I present to you the newest member of the McMillen family, Dewey!!!

Yes...his igloo is pink with glitter, he wanted it I swear!

Weigh In

Last night I didn't think I was gonna be going to my WW meeting this morning. Bridget was sick last night and I wasn't feeling that great either, but I woke up at 10:30am and called Bridget and she happened to be up so we went. I'm so glad I did because I lost...*drum roll*.....3lbs.!!! Wow. My highlights of this week were:

-Getting outdoors as much as possible.
*walking Dingo
*playing frisbee
*taking Acacia to the park
*riding my bike to the gym

-Going to sleep or taking a nap when I was tired instead of eating or late night snacking, because really it never wakes me up.

-Lots of water,fruit,flax seed meal,fiber pills,fish oil.

A swap and good news!

Oh man do I love swaps! I received my swap from RosieOk. I could not be happier!! I swapped Dez Beaverling for Mr. Ted and a snail/mushroom set aaaand she included two more awesome mushrooms and and a super cool card holder stuffed with the coolest business cards I've ever seen! Mr. Ted is staring at me right now<3

Yesterday was pretty freaking wonderful. On Wednesday I mentioned the fingerprint situation to our family counselor(she's pretty much the smartest woman ever) and she told me I should contact my state legislator. I was thinking yeah right, like they care about my measly prints but the next morning I googled it, entered my zip code and had a number. I spoke with John Laird's amazing secretary gave her a bit of information and within 45min my completed fingerprints were sent to the school district!!! I love you Ally, you're the best! I was printed on December 7th and I have no criminal record!! Who knows when they would have come back if I didn't do that.
Sadly my position has been taken and there is a hiring freeze while they're figuring out next years budget. But with any luck by next fall I will be working in a classroom!

However not all is lost. I found out I am eligible for rehire at Longs,a drug store I worked at briefly when I was 19, and I should be working by next week once my drug test comes back. So yeah, things are looking up :)
Now I just need to seriously get to work on my Crammed Organism pieces!

I leave you with my grandma's latest modeling job and a pair of earrings I made yesterday.

*whistle* C'meeere!!

So, After I finished that post yesterday I promptly hopped on my bike and rode to the gym. It was quite warm up riding against the wind. I stayed for an hour focusing on weights, arms and back of my thighs. I did crunches until it burned to bad to go on. It's funny how terrible things feel when you learn the proper way to do them.

Last night Jackie called and asked me to watch Dingo again, of course I said yes :) We were out for 3 hours today! We played at the beach and then walked to my sister's house and then her, the baby and rascal walked with us to the park. He was so pooped afterwards.

I finished my 'favorite color' swap plush last night, I hope she loves it! Mmmk...I think I'm gonna dye my hair real quick (soft black) and then it's to the sewing machine with me, for reals!

Harvey West Park

We had so much fun at Harvey West Park yesterday! It was a great place to play frisbee, i.e. grass without gopher holes. There was a big fiesta going on so we got to play while listening to some sweet mariachi music, we even danced a little.

Things have been wonderful despite recent stresses. We've been trying our best to enjoy life and not worry about the little things.

I did however have trouble falling asleep last night thinking about my plans for the Crammed Organisms show. I think they will turn out awesome but I better seriously get started, I don't have much time!! :x

I puppy sat my sister and mother-in-law's dog this morning. I took him on an hour long walk to the beach and around the neighborhood, it was sooo hilarious watching him play with the other dogs.

I'm on my way to the gym before I lose motivation!

Weigh In

Yay! I'm down a pound. Even though the scale didn't move much I definitely feel so much better and my legs are toning up too :)

When Bridget picked me up she gave me this lovely gift, a Hello Kitty SARS mask!!

I totally biffed it!

Friday night Bridget and I got ice cream and saw Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. I really like Frances McDormand and Amy Adams so I saw it, but if you don't care for them stick with the book it is, of course, sooo much better! I really hope Amy Adams plans on taking more serious roles because she just reminded me so much of Nicole Kidman<3 in this movie and I love her and don't see enough of her!

See the "bridge illusion" over the water?! Ooooo aaaahhh!

Yesterday was fabulous! We had the most perfect weather and we stayed outside for a good portion of the day, which has been rare. We took a walk to the beach when we first woke up, then we ate lunch. After that Ed took me to the gym. I did 11 miles on the recumbent bike on the hardest level/resistance I've ever done! When Ed picked me up we went over to Big 5 and bought a frisbeeish type thing. When we got home we tried it out on the street in front of the house and about 10 min. later I biffed it and now have a lil road rash on my arm and calve :/ I'm so extreeeme! We decided it would be best to play on the grass after that so we headed over to my sister's to see if her, Joe, and the baby wanted to join us at the school across the street. They we're just about to eat dinner so we went without them and they came over when they were through. I had the best time, we were out there for 2 hours! It was so nice to be out doing something active with Ed and he wasn't being distracted with work or his latest project. We even sat on the grass and smooched<3 I hope he is able to relax more in the future and this can become a regular thing.

WW with Bridget in an hour!

Digby

Ugh....so tired. I rode all over turning in applications and filling them out. I'm on the job hunt again......and no I don't even want to talk about it, it's that ridiculous. I'm feeling good though, I've been snapped out of the fog I was in and have been sewing every night. That makes me feel heaps better about myself and everything else. Thanks to all the cycling at the gym I rode my bike up the hill down, down the street, with out standing up to pedal for the first time ever! I didn't go to my ww meeting last week so I can't adjust my ticker, but I'll be going this Saturday. Bridget went without me (yay!) and she lost *drum roll*......7lbs!! She's so awesome. That definitely motivated me to keep on keepin' on.

We've been watching lots of Howard Stern On Demand and loving it and we're watching season 1 of 90210, so fabulous!! Ed is such a good sport<3

On Sunday we went to a cometary that we haven't really explored much, it's really run down. Ed lifted up a board and we found a blue belly. I hardly placed my finger on his tail and it fell off and proceeded to wiggle for at least a minute. It totally looked like a worm too, I had to keep reminding myself it was a tail so I wouldn't eat it........what? no that's gross! Onto the plush!

More new stuff on my flickr!

I also added more jewelry pics to my mom's set :)

p.s. My mom got her very first Etsy sale yesterday!! Thanks Erin!

Blah

I...have....absolutely nothing to say...but I'll try. I went back to WW on Saturday and Bridget joined to so that's awesome. My weight had gone all the way up to 200lbs...crazy I know. Since I joined the gym and had already started counting points I had lost 3 lbs. So as of Saturday I am 197 lbs. I hope I can lose it a lot faster this time.

So far this week has not been easy. I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with my fingerprints, luckily the school district has realized it's been an unreasonable amount of time and is looking into it. I want to sew so badly but my head has been in a fog. It's really hard to get into the groove of doing everything I want to do, eat right, exercise, sew, work, spend time with Ed.

Our 3 yr. wedding anniversary is coming up on the 21st! The day after I have a consultation for an IUD. It will be nice to see how my body does with less hormones.

Ed: How long does the IUD work ?
Me: 5 years.
Ed: ....yeah we might be ready by then.
Me: suuuuure :)

Last week I heard Acacia say Rascal (her dog) and I got so excited I screamed! She was terrified and climbed up on my lap. I gotta watch it or she's gonna be afraid to speak :x A few days later I was giving her a bath and I pointed at myself and said, "who's this? Auntie" then she pointed at me and said, "Auntie". Then My bother in law walked in and asked who I was and she said it again!! She is the best thing in the world!!

Ok, so here's my ticker and all that jazz.
